Description
Products overview on 17 remington:
The .17 Remington was introduced in 1971 by Remington Arms Company for their model 700 rifles. It is based on the .223 Remington case necked down to .172 in (4.37 mm), with the shoulder moved back. It was designed exclusively as a varmint round, though it is suitable for smaller predators. There are those such as P.O. Ackley who used it on much larger game, but such use is not typical.

Remington Premier Ammunition offers the shooter and hunter one of the greatest varieties of premium bullet designs ever introduced, combined with strict manufacturing tolerances to create ammunition any shooter would be willing to use on that shot of a lifetime.
AccuTip bullets are designed for rapid expansion, produce a high level of transferred energy and feature a thicker jacket and harder lead core to regulate weight retention and optimize penetration. Upon impact, the gold polymer tip is driven rearward causing the thin jacket and soft lead core to fragment violently. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.
Overview 17 remington ammo:
The.17 Remington’s main characteristics include its extremely high starting velocity (about 4000 ft/s; 1200 m/s), flat trajectory, and very little recoil. On prairie dog-sized animals, it has an effective maximum range of roughly 440 yards (400 m), although at such ranges, the little bullet is very vulnerable to crosswinds due to its poor ballistic coefficients and sectional densities.
The ballistic coefficient of the smaller.172 bullet is often substantially lower than that of other common varmint calibres, including the.223 Remington. This causes the.172 bullet to lose velocity a little bit more quickly and makes it more wind-sensitive, but it in no way renders the cartridge unusable. This cartridge’s benefits include little recoil, a flat trajectory, and few entrance wounds. It is the perfect round for fur-bearing animals from which the hunter plans to take a pelt due to the small entrance wound and typical lack of exit wound on coyote-sized animals.
Such a small-caliber rifle barrel can develop gilding metal fouling extremely quickly, which is very harmful to accuracy and may eventually lead to rising pressures from the fouling’s constriction of the bore. This is a severe drawback. Although more contemporary metallurgy utilized in both barrels and bullets has substantially minimized the fouling issue, many.17 Remington shooters have stated that optimum accuracy is achieved when the bore is cleaned after every 10 to 20 shots.
The.17 Remington is also one of the rare cartridges in which the weight of the powder charge is frequently more than the weight of the bullet. The.17 Remington is famed for its remarkable accuracy, despite the fact that this circumstance has been known to lower accuracy. The fact that only high-quality bolt action and single shot rifles have been factory-chambered to this specification has contributed significantly to their reputation for accuracy.
